Becoming Your Future Self & Quantum Leaping

When people ask me my plans for the evening or weekend, I love to tell them I’m quantum leaping. It just sounds cool – like something from an Avengers movie. And I guess it’s not super far from it? To put it simply, quantum leaping is a visualization exercise where you visualize and have conversations with a future state version of you.

Why is quantum leaping so valuable? I find quantum leaping to be a valuable tool for manifesting. The abundant, joyful, loving, healthy and unlimited version of you is already existing as a potential in the quantum field. It is not something you must chase. It is something you must become. Plus, your body does not know the difference between a real experience and one that is vividly imagined.

To give you an example, one of my goals the past few months has been to become the healthiest, fittest version of myself. I’ll frequently do this quantum leaping exercise to visit this version of myself and have conversations with her. I ask her:

  1. What’s one habit I had to start to become this version of you?
  2. What’s one habit I had to stop to become this version of you?
  3. What’s one piece of advice you would give me to become this version of you?

I am not going to achieve my goal of becoming my healthiest, fittest self by continuing to exist and make decisions as my current self. So when I’m making choices like whether or not I should work out (yes…almost always yes) or what I should order for dinner (nothing – cook your food at home lol), I ask myself “what would my healthiest, fittest self do?”

Another reason I love having conversations with my future self? Most of the time the answers we seek are already within us. I remember going to see a psychic in August. I had very specific questions I was looking for him to answer. At the end of our session, he asked me how I felt. “Honestly, you just kind of validated what I already knew.”

The answers are already within you.

Having conversations with my future self helps me unlock those answers.

Another quantum leaping exercise I like to do is visit the most loving version of me. This visualization exercise has helped me navigate the relationships in my life to determine if the people in my life are aligned with the elevated, future self I’m trying to become.

Need Help Visualizing Your Future Self?

I know for me, it was a little challenging to visualize what my future self looked like. Fortunately, we have AI for that. You can use an app like Lensa to create AI images of yourself (I just used the free seven day trial) to help you with this visualization. Some of them were a little silly (the fit one gave me huge tits lol and I’m not sure why I’m a viking in another but I thought it was kind of cute) but a few of them had me saying “YES I want to be her.”

Tips for Making the Quantum Leap to Your Best, Future Self

These tips are from Dr. Joe Dispenza – who has an awesome visualization video for reprogramming your subconscious.

  1. As soon as you wake up. Ask yourself “who do i want to become and what does my future look like?” See your future self already living the life you desire now. Don’t just see it, feel it–abundance, love, freedom
  2. Midday – pause. take a deep breath. Think “how would my future self handle the rest of this day?”
  3. Before you go to sleep – do not replay your problems as you go to sleep or think about what went wrong or what you have to do tomorrow. Think of one thing – no matter how small – that showed up in your life today as a sign that your manifestation is happening. Tells the universe “I accept this reality. Send me more now.” By the way, this is the quantum leaping exercise I like to do before bed. I almost always fall asleep before it’s over. Either that or I’m actually leaping to another universe 😉

Remember – the life you desire is not something you chase; it is something you become.

Happy quantum leaping!

Making My Mom’s Christian Mingle Profile Is Exhausting

This blog first appeared on Lex and the City in 2013. It has been republished here with minor updates.  My relationship with my mom is shaky at best. Mostly because she goes through these periods in her life where she’s randomly super religious (I call her a fairweather Christian) and

If you’re reading this post, chances are you’re already familiar with manifesting. Either way, hopefully you’ve checked out my post where I give away all the secrets of my manifesting.  But if you’ve tried manifesting before and felt like it didn’t work, hopefully I can help with that as well.

I Give Away All the Secrets of My Manifesting

Any of my friends will tell you that I’m an incredible manifester. Even in my 20s, I blogged about something called “the Lexie phenomenon” which could only be described as the wildest and magical events that always seemed to be occurring around me.  I went to see a psychic last
